2 day workshop - Intro to Digital Arts in the Centre for Creative Practices.
Learn how to create digital art using your computer screen as your canvas and your mouse as your paintbrush. In this course you'll explore the key concepts of bitmap and vector art. Tools like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and digital photography will be used to help you to create your very first digital art pieces right away. The technology used today will be engaged to express your creative approach. This course is full of true inspiration and fun! Prior experience in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator is not necessary.

- Learn the fundamental concepts in bitmap and vector art.
- Identify digital art applications for Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Discover how to correct bitmap images, apply effects, add text, add black and white, filter effects to digital photographs and how to save your files in Adobe Photoshop.
- Learn how to make selections, add fills, strokes, colour, and how to save files in Illustrator.
- Create your digital art pieces through exploration and experimentation.

Participants fee: Eur150; if paid before the 6th March: Eur130.

For all aspiring digital artists. Basic knowldege of Photoshop is required.

2 days workshop: Digital Photo Editing in the Centre for Creative Practices.
At this hands-on workshop you will learn how to apply colour correction, sharpening, repairing and touching up images, straightening and cropping, selective editing, and file compression using easy to understand features of Adobe Photoshop (CS4) software. You will gain experience on how to use tools, layers, masks, and cool effects. You'll get an intro into digital file management, using multiple copies of your image and keeping your original files untouched. The workshop also includes some alternatives to Photoshop, and will show you how to apply the techniques you've learned to any other programme.

Participants fee: Eur150; if paid before the 13th Feb: Eur130.

Participants must have basic computer skills, and experience with digital images.

Min No 6, max 12 students.

Workshop: Digital Image Basics in the Centre for Creative Practices.
In this beginner's workshop we will introduce you to the exiting world of the digital image. You will learn how to acquire images from cameras and scanners. You will get familiar with file types, image size and resolution, as well as the different approaches to take for printing, uploading, saving, and submitting our images. We'll demonstrate best practices for file organisation, storage and backup and show you how to upload your photos to the websites and photography repositories online.

Participants fee: Eur80; if paid before the 1st Feb: Eur70.

"Auteur animations" - lecture in the Centre for Creative Practices.
I'll be talking about some important and influential animators who make auteur movies. The lecture will be accompanied by samples of their style.
